Adventure sport, Paragliding present near to Kathmandu
Paragliding has been established as a popular adventurous sport to internal and international tourists in Nepal. It has always captivated people around the globe and has been popularizing the country for its lightweight flying along with the thrilling view of the landscapes of the country.
In that context, Pokhara has been the most sought after destination for paragliding sport and Syangja has also been a popular destination recently. But, it is unknown to most of the people that a paragliding spot is present nearby Kathmandu.
Previously called Bishunkhe VDC but now known as Godawari municipality contains Chapkharka hill where lies the paragliding sport where tourists enjoy gliding from the hill and fly up to 4.5 kilometers down, to land at Rakshyataar which takes about thirty minutes to do so.
The paragliding sport has been conducted by the company named Kathmandu paragliding.
The nine gliders that facilitate the tourists are swoop upon the sky by a well experienced Korean as well as other three Nepali pilots.
The paragliding adventure is being conducted there for almost two years whose office lies at Godawari as well as Thamel.
The price for paragliding for internal tourists is 5500 rupees and for international tourists is 8500 rupees.
During the season for paragliding which is November, December, January and February, this place can be enjoyed by the local Kathmandu residents which also provide birds watching, horse riding as well as cyling. The company provides pick up and drop facility too.
